Hijab or jilbab (Arabic: حجاب) is the Arabic word meaning barrier.
In some Arabic-speaking countries and Western countries, the word "hijab" more often refers to the veil used by Muslim women. But in Islamic scholarship, hijab is more appropriate to refer to the appropriate procedures to dress in accordance with the guidance of religion.

Islam not only regulate the relationship between man and God, but also regulate the relationship between human beings. Within this scope, are also regulated all aspects of human life. including about fashion. Surah Al-A'raf verse 26 Allah has warned:

O Son of Adam, verily We have sent down to clothing to cover auratmu and beautiful clothing to jewelry. And clothing that's the best self-restraint. Such is the party of the signs of God, I hope they always remember.

Because that's the basis of dress for Muslims is the faith factor. Hijab did not interfere with Muslim women to achieve progress, provided that all of it in accordance with Islamic rules.
