The situation began when deliveryman decided to participate in programs organized by their schools to wear the hijab. The program was led by Amanda Jaczkowski, fellow junior deliveryman in Clinton Township, Michigan. "Hijab is part of Islam that is very misunderstood. I want to help children to better understand what it means," said Jaczkowski which also mentions about 25 women have participated.

Clarkson junior high school students, Hannah Grimaldi said he has experienced discrimination since wearing a headscarf. "I started wearing hijab, Friday. The people looked at me as if in surprise," said Grimaldi. Grimaldi said he came from a predominantly white area and rarely intersect with other cultures. "You get a chance to be in the culture of others," he said.

For each participant, there are three different levels to choose from. The first level requires them to alter their physical appearance by covering the skin and hair. They are also not allowed to show affection in public or consume alcohol. The second level includes the first, but added a condition for not eating pork. The third level includes the first and second, by adding a condition prohibiting the marital relationship for those who are not married and avoid an atmosphere that allows the relationship of husband and wife.

"I think it would be interesting to live with the veil and see how people will treat you," said deliveryman. According to him, most of the people around him do not know how to treat her. "I know they are not comfortable," he said.

Before the event, the deliveryman said he saw wearing a headscarf was not true. "I always thought it was degrading to women. But in fact, not really," he concluded.
